Aryaduta Hotels Unveils its Contemporary Indonesian Uniforms
Jakarta, 3 November 2017 – Redesigning staff uniforms has been one of the latest fashion trends in the hospitality industry with leading hotels agreeing stylish staff attire offers another opportunity for a brand to express its uniqueness, communicate values and enhance customer experience.
Recently launching its haute couture uniform is Aryaduta Hotel Group, commissioning Sebastian Gunawan, the country’s legendary fashion designer, to create a versatile line that would be used throughout the group’s hotels. Regularly lauded in international fashion circles and a member of the elite “International Couturier Extraordinaire”, Mr. Gunawan’s Aryaduta sketches merge the designer’s imagination with the group’s vision: “To Create a Globally Competitive Iconic Indonesian Hotel Brand”.
The hotel group further tasked the fashion designer to help source its personalized bathroom amenities with La Bottega, a market leader in the cosmetic amenities industry, to create what it calls “a specific scent that reflects the Aryaduta brand experience”. The essence developed is what the designer playfully refers to as “Bamboo & Lily”.
“We wanted to create a fresh and soft, tropical fragrance, combining bamboo with the aroma of jasmine,” says Mr. Gunawan. “And we further layered in the mix cleansing lemon and refreshing grapefruit, all in union with cedar and sandalwood, making for a rarefied essence that’s well suited to Indonesia, which has a high level of humidity.”
Aryaduta Hotel Group, CEO, Anthony Ross says: “La Bottega was a good fit with Sebastian’s design, both are sophisticated yet sublime, one in look, one in scent – it just works. We are today redirecting the group with robust changes, and Sebastian’s design plays well with the mix of ‘iconic’ Indonesia and contemporary style we are aiming for in our guest touch points.”
From voguish uniforms and amenities to highly conceptualized food and beverage outlets and more, Mr. Ross explains: “Rebuilding the brand is well underway, piece by piece, within the existing properties as well as key characteristics in our new hotels such as Aryaduta Bali to open in December.”

ARYADUTA X MARINKA 2ND
Celebrity Chef Says Hello Hello Bandung: JAKARTA, Indonesia (July 18, 2017) --- Aryaduta Hotels brand ambassador, tastemaker and celebrity chef, Rinrin Marinka, will exhibit her lauded cooking talent at the Aryaduta Bandung July 20th unveiling her second menu, inspired by traditional Sundanese food, to guests and media.
As one of Indonesia’s most iconic names in homegrown lodging and hospitality, the Aryaduta Hotel Group, is currently undergoing a bold brand transformation that includes aligning with Indonesian artists and celebrities as brand consultants, with Chef Marinka as the group’s gastronomic authority applying her signature to time-honoured and diverse tastes from around Indonesia.
“We have all the right elements coming together for a savory outcome,” says Rob Cunningham, Group Director of Food & Beverage at Aryaduta Hotels. “The blend is potent: we have the Aryaduta, a trusted name in Indonesian hospitality, a celeb chef with phenomenal cooking skills and then of course there’s the Indonesian archipelago, such as right here in Bandung, a fantastic source of inspiration.”
Known amongst Indonesians as “Marinka,” the talented chef, restaurateur, MasterChef judge and host of Asian Food Channel’s Wonderful Indonesia Flavors, has designed her “Series 2” signature menu of contemporary Indonesian dishes with planned quarterly launches at Aryaduta Hotels throughout Indonesia.
Her first menu launch, inspired by Jakarta street food, was held Feb. 23-24 at the Aryaduta Jakarta. “No wonder Bandung was often referred to as the ‘Paris of Java’ given its lovely art deco buildings and cool climate but it’s also a secret place to discover amazing tastes like batagor, mie kocok, kupat tahu and kue ketan hitam and so much more,” says Chef Marinka. “I have spent some time looking around sampling dishes
from small warungs to stand alone restaurants in this patriotic city and can tell you these people know their food.”
Born in Jakarta, Marinka got her start in the culinary world at a young age, relocating to Australia to complete a French Cuisine & Patisserie degree from the Sydney campus of Le Cordon Bleu. Once she returned to Indonesia, Marinka soon realized the Indonesia culinary world was a great story waiting to be told, and presented, to wider audiences.
Joining Marinka in Bandung is Sydney De Hart, Amsterdam native and chef for the group's soon-to-open Bali property. “Like Bali, Bandung is a foodie city and to cook it up with Marinka at this second event is something to be excited about,” says de Hart. "Bandung presents an intriguing crossroads where you can find, as an example, decent French food on one corner of the street and a fish inspired siomay, ikan tengiri on the other.”

“Back in the early 90s Aryaduta was a name associated with innovative dining concepts and it’s now time to reestablish that recognition and we found an ideal collaborator with local chef, Rinrin Marinka,” said Rob Cunningham, Group Director of Food & Beverage at Aryaduta Hotels Indonesia.
Known amongst Indonesians as “Marinka,” the talented chef, restaurateur, MasterChef judge and host of Asian Food Channel’s Wonderful Indonesia Flavors, will design a signature menu of contemporary Indonesian dishes unveiled quarterly at Aryaduta Hotels throughout Indonesia. Once she returned to Indonesia, Rinrin soon realized the Indonesia culinary world was a great story waiting to be told, and presented, to wider audiences.
“I push myself to cook uncompromising and authentic Indonesian dishes yet with a degree of finesse and an artistic French style of plating,” says Marinka. “There can be an engaging masquerade to good cooking and that’s where the fun comes in.”
Rob Cunningham says the tie up with Marinka is one that neatly matches Aryaduta’s vision as a dedicated patron to classic-modern Indonesian cuisine. “We see Indonesian gastronomy protected but also in transition, much like the position Thai food was at a few decades ago and it’s our desire to support the practice or art of choosing, cooking, and eating great Indonesian food.”
